The paper is divided into three parts: Part A: General Science, Quantitative Reasoning & Analysis (20 questions) Part B: Subject-related conventional MCQs (25-50 questions depending on subject) Part C: Scientific concepts application (30-75 questions depending on subject) There is negative marking for wrong answers.

Contingency grant of ₹20,000 per year is also provided.
